Athletics Program
The Athletics Program is now in its seventh year. For 2009-10 the squad has 12 members
Athletics squad members have been amongst the Academy's most successful as a number of them have won Australian championships. Three have also been winners of the Academy's prestigious Tim Forsyth Award as the most outstanding athlete in a particular year.

Once again our Head Coach is Steve Cain. Steve is the current Australian Decathlon champion, so he is highly knowledgeable across the spectrum of track and field events. He is supported by Sam Fenton, a specialised strength and conditioning coach, who has successfully worked with a number of our squads for several years.
Abbie Freestone continues with us in a trainee coach role. Abbie has sprinting and field event experience, but her specialty, in which she is a former Victorian Champion, is the pole vault.
