Badminton Program
![]() Head Coach, Rudy Bartholomeusz (left); some 2007 athletes & Panel members Now in its 10th year the badminton programme has seen a resurgence of talent in Gippsland. The pool of identified athletes will offer strong representation for the Gippsland Sports Academy as they travel to tournaments around the state. Dillon Silvester has set the bar by representing Victoria after his hard work making the semi finals in doubles and quarter finals in the singles of the Victorian State Titles held at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre. Dillon came home with a bronze medal. The programme will once again be headed by the experienced and well accomplished coach Rudy Bartholomeusz. Rudy has had considerable experience in coaching national players and teams at senior and junior levels. He was also a mentor and specialised skills coach when the Badminton Program commenced and continues to make a considerable contribution to its success. Rudy will be strongly supported by local satellite coaches, Jess Lyons, Ken Peter, Ray Throup, Harold Spargo & Trevor Mallett. Fortunately for the GSA the programme will once again be managed by the very experienced and committed Jean Nielsen
