Badminton Program
![]() Head Coach, Rudy Bartholomeusz (left); some 2007 athletes & Panel members The Program commenced in 2002, and has been one of the Academy's most successful. Most years we have produced champions or State representatives in the underage events. Much of the Program's success is attributed to support by regional associations, and to the quality of our coaches and head coaches. Previous head coaches include Ray Throup, who is still associated with the Program, and Murray Hocking, a former Australian champion and international player. Since 2006 our head coach has been Rudy Bartholomeusz. Rudy has had considerable experience in coaching national players and teams, at senior and junior levels. He was also a mentor and specialised skills coach when the Badminton Program commenced, so he has made a considerable contribution to its success over several seasons. Satellite coaches conduct regular training sessions at different Gippsland
venues, with regular weekend full-squad sessions at Warragul.
