Golf Program
The Gippsland Sports Academy Credit Collect Golf Program, proudly supported by local company Credit Collect and the Victorian Golf Foundation will act as the peak golf program throughout Gippsland.
The Academy team will be coordinated by the Gippsland Sports Academy Golf Advisory Panel and Program Staff and will provide a development pathway to the Victorian Institute of Sport for regionally based athletes.
The Academy shall also provide off-course services around strength and conditioning, sport science and athlete education to compliment the work being done on the course to develop the Golf athletes.
The structure of the Program has been designed to provide support to regionally based athletes to help them reach their full potential, while providing a clear pathway from local golf to state squads and the Victorian Institute of Sport. The Program Athletes will represent the elite group of regionally based athletes. The specific goals of the Gippsland Sports Academy Golf Program are to:
- Consider the relationship between the technical, physical and mental components in order to improve game day performance;
- Assist athletes to enhance their skill base;
- Prepare fitness programs and to monitor the use of such programs;
- Monitor all athletes development;
- To provide opportunities and access to Junior tournaments across Victoria; and
- To increase exposure to VIS Coaching standards.
