Congratulations to Todd Malone from Traralgon for his recent efforts in Clay Target Shooting who is the Gippstar February “Open” Award Winner. Todd competed at the Australian Olympic Trap National Championships in January, 2017, shooting a benchmark score required by Shooting Australia to be considered for Australian team selection, counting towards selection for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. He won gold in the open men’s trap winning the National Title and has been selected to represent Australia in Cyprus at a world cup in April/May. Todd was also selected in a three man team in Olympic Trap representing Victoria, competing at the Australian Olympic Trap Nationals in January, where the team placed first overall, winning gold.
The Gippstar January “Junior” Award Winner is 14 year old Ben Lang from Wurruk. Ben competed in the U14 Men’s 400m at The Australian All Schools Track and Field Championships in Dec 2016 and won a bronze medal with a personal best time of 53.91 seconds. After a successful Victorian State Championships, where Ben won a bronze medal in the U15 200m (in a personal best of 24.88) and a bronze in the U15 400m, he has now qualified for The U15 400m at The Australian Track and Field Championships to be held in Sydney in March 2017.
