Jordyn Cargill of Traralgon is the February Junior Gippstar Award winner. At the Victorian Country Swimming Championships in Shepparton Jordyn won 3 gold (100m free, 100m fly, 200m IM), 1 silver (100 breast) and 1 bronze (Open 400m IM) medals, swimming in 8 finals, including 4 Open events. At the State Long Course Championships, Jordyn won 2 gold (13/U 400IM, 200 free), 2 silver (200 fly, 200 back) and 2 bronze (100 fly, 200 IM) medals – swimming in 11 finals. To date Jordyn has achieved 10 National Age Qualifying times to compete at the 2018 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Swimming Championships in April. Outstanding Achievements!

The February Open Gippstar winner is Sidney Churchman of Bairnsdale, for her chosen sport of Dressage. Sidney was the Australian Youth Dressage Championships at Boneo Park. She was awarded Champion of Preliminary section, competing against other youth athletes from around the country. Sidney received the Briana Judge Memorial Trophy for highest scoring rider at the entire event who is a member of both EA and PCV. She also won an Interschools Novice Dressage test at the event, which qualifies her for State Interschool Dressage Championships. Recently Sidney competed at the Pony Club Victoria State Dressage and Showjumping Championships. Having competed successfully at Zone level to qualify, Sidney won the Level 2 Dressage Championship at the event. Her scores placed her team of 3 riders second overall – the highest Level 2 Dressage result ever achieved by East Gippsland Zone of Pony Clubs. Congratulations Sidney.
