The July Junior Gippstar Award Winner is Taylah Brown of Koonwarra for her sport of Netball. Taylah was a representative of the Victorian Under 17 Netball team that competed in Adelaide. Taylah was co vice-captain. The Victorian team came away with the silver medal after being beaten by South Australia in the Grand Final. Taylah has been recognised for her efforts and been selected in the Australian Under 17 Netball Squad. This means she receives a 12 month scholarship to the Victorian Institute of Sport, as well as spending a week long Camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra in October. The week long camp involves exposure to International netball competing against England and New Zealand squads. Taylah is also captain of her U19 Victorian Netball League team Boroondarra Express. Molly Irvine of Traralgon is the July Open winner of the Gippstar Award for her achievements in Triathlon events. Molly was selected to represent Australia and compete at the 2018 International Triathlon Union Age Group World Triathlon Championships. Molly finished 15th in her category. Molly is a Member of the Triathlon Victoria Development Squad, came 2nd Overall in the Female category at the Challenge Shepparton Sprint Distance, and 2nd in the Female 20-24years category at the Gatorade Triathlon Sprint Distance. A fantastic achievement Molly!
