Congratulations to Emily Beecroft from Traralgon for her efforts in Swimming, who is the Gippstar September “Open” Award Winner. Emily participated in the Paralympics in Rio in September. She swam in four events: 200m IM, 100m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle and 50m Freestyle. Emily made personal best times in all four events – excellent effort at such a high level. She was a finalist in the 100m Fly, 100m Free and 50m Free, placing 6th in both 100m events and 4th in the freestyle – only .03sec from third and a bronze medal.
The Gippstar September “Junior” Award Winner is Cohen Wade from Stratford for Equestrian (Show Jumping). In September Cohen competed in the Australian Show jumping Championships held at Werribee Park. He competed in the Open 80cm and 90cm show jumping classes over the 4 days achieving two second places, one third place and one fourth place. He also competed at the Boneo Cup Show jumping in the Open 80cm achieving 1st and 3rd Place and the Sale Show jumping Club – Spring Show competing on his pony Lakevale Tarwyn in the Open 80cm placing 2nd in the class.
