GIPPSTAR – MARCH AWARD WINNERS

The March Junior Gippstar Award Winner is Molly Cargill of Traralgon for her achievements in her sport of Swimming. At the Gippsland Championships Molly swam in 8 Open events and 6 Age events and was a finalist in all 14 events, never placing lower than 4th. In the 13/14 years events, Molly won 4 gold and 1 silver. In Open events Molly won 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze – a total of 6 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze (and 2 4th placings) for 14 events. Molly was also part of 1 record breaking and 6 medal-winning relays. Molly won the Alan Harlow Trophy as the most successful (points) 14 & Under swimmer and the Jewell Family Trophy as the most successful female swimmer over all at the meet.

The March Open Gippstar Award Winner is James Scullin of Traralgon for his achievements in his sport of Lawn Bowls. James won the 2019/2020 West Gippsland Bowls Division Mens Singles Championship, then defeated Inverloch’s Wayne Parks 25-13 in the Strzelecki Region Playoffs final. Great achievement James!
