The November Junior Gippstar Award Winner is Cohen Wade of Stratford for his achievements in his sport of Modern Pentathlon. Cohen competed in the 2019 Asian/Oceania Modern Pentathlon Championships and Olympic Qualifier – held in Wuhan, China. Cohen was selected as a member of the Australian youth team to compete in two individual events and a relay. He competed in the individual Youth U/19 Laser Run (repetitions of 5 shoots and running 800m for a total of 20 shots and 3.2km) winning the silver medal from a much older field. He completed the event just 30 seconds off an Olympic Qualifier time. He also combined with a fellow Australian team mate to win the gold medal for Australia in the Youth U/19 male Modern Pentathlon Relay – over the full disciplines – epee fencing, swimming, laser run. Well Done Cohen!


The November Open Gippstar Award Winner is Emily Beecroft of Traralgon for her achievements in her sport of Swimming. Emily competed at the Australian Short Course Swimming Championships at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, where she claimed a Bronze Medal in the 100m Butterfly.
