Gippstar – September & October 2022

The September Junior Gippstar Award Winner is Alicia McGrath of Stony Creek for her achievements in her sport of Clay Target Shooting.  Alicia was the Overall Winner of the South East Zone of Victoria School Championships at the Frankston Clay Target Club.

The September Open Gippstar Award Winner is Alex Vuillermin of Morwell for her achievements in her sport of Rowing. Alex was selected to compete for Australia at the World Rowing Championships which were held in Racice, Czech Republic, 18-25 Sept 2022. Alex and her partner competed in the PR3 Women’s Pair and finished with a Silver Medal.

The October Junior Gippstar Award Winner is Maddie Buhagiar of Warragul for her achievements in her sport of Cross Country. Maddie competed in cross country national event in Adelaide in August for Team Vic she placed equal 20th. In October she competed for team Vic at Nationals in Perth for Soccer.

The October Open Gippstar Award Winner is Shannon Freeman of Morwell for her achievements in her sport of Netball.  Shannon Freeman, playing for Morwell in the Gippsland League 2022 A Grade Netball Competition, was victorious in winning the A Grade Best & Fairest Award, by amassing 33 Votes over the season. Her nearest rival was Amy Harrison from Traralgon who tallied 26 Votes. In addition, Shannon received the Gippsland League 2022 Netball MVP Award.
